QUALITY STANDARS

Our packers work with BRCGS and HACCP certifications to ensure quality and safety of our nuts, showcasing a firm dedication to maintaining superior food safety and quality management across our supply chain.

BRCGS contributes to increased supply chain trust. Our global standards help customers feel reassured that your products are safe, legal, and of the highest caliber. They also set the standard for good manufacturing practice in the areas of food safety, packaging materials, storage and distribution, consumer products, agents and brokers, retail, gluten-free, plant-based, and ethical trading.

Our standards examines the goods and manufacturing procedures to assess a food producer’s capacity to create genuine, safe, and high-quality goods in compliance with regulatory standards and consumer demands.

HACCP Certification for Food Processors and Manufacturers helps us to carry out a food safety plan successfully. Determine, minimize, and eventually stop all possible sources of contamination in your plant that handles food processing, manufacturing, packing, supply and distribution.

REGIONS

The South American Cone: Argentina & Brazil

THE REGION AS A PECAN PRODUCING POLE
The harvest takes place from April to July depending on the variety.

The genetics of the main varieties grown in both countries come from Germplasm Bank of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The following varieties are grown:
Sumner, Pawnee, Oconee, Stuart, Cape Fear, Nacono, Shoshoni, Maramec. choctaw, Forkert, Kernodle, Kiowa, Desirable, Mahan, Harris Super, Starking Hardy Giant, Wichita, Western Schley.

The differences between the varieties are the size of the nut, the color, and the harvest time. There are early harvest varieties and late harvest varieties.

According to the latest data, it is estimated that the total area planted with pecan is around 25,000 hectares (55.000 acres), with an annual production of 7,500 metric tons (16.500.000 pounds).

Since much production comes from young trees that have still to reach  their maximum performance, and  2.500-3.000 new hectares (6.000 – 7.500 acres) are planted every year, production is expected to  grow exponentially.

Estimations mark a projected total of 20,000 – 23,000 metric tons (44.000.000 – 50.000.00 pounds) in the next 5 years. This would create a humble but significant Pecan production  hub in the Southern Hemisphere.
